It's almost a small tradition. Since 2016 I have been publishing
a free sock pattern on my blog www.tanjasteinbach.de, just in time for October
1st, the so-called SOCKTOBER. This year, together with LANA GROSSA, I am
combining two worthwhile campaigns, the proceeds of which will be used to fight
cancer.
On the one hand, the "Grüne Socke" campaign of the
association "Eierstockkrebs Deutschland e.V", which I have supported
for a long time. In recent years, well over 4000 pairs of hand-knitted socks
have been collected for the women affected and the association has visited 160
clinics and 60 rehabilitation facilities nationwide and distributed the socks!
That's why I'm asking you to knit green socks again this
year and send them to the association "Eierstockkrebs Deutschland
e.V" Germany (Reha-Betriebe Erftland GmbH, Aktion: Grüne Socke!,
Heisenbergstr. 9-11, 50126 Bergheim). Decide how much "green" your
sock contains. Only the hope color green should also be there.
On the other hand, we also support the German Cancer Aid
Foundation in the fight against breast cancer with the pink special colors.
Pink has been the signal color for this initiative for many years. 50 cents per
ball of yarn sold from this campaign will be collected by LANA GROSSA and then
donated in equal parts to these two initiatives.
Please support the campaign as well. Every sock counts!
Yours, Tanja Steinbach
